SEOMURAI Documentation

Reach external SEO validators with a single click.

SEOMURAI connects external checkers in two places: the HTML Data and Schema subtabs under Tech, and the right-click context menu. Each passes the current address along. See the documentation overview.

Where SEOMURAI connects external checkers

Not every check can sensibly be rebuilt inside a browser extension. For deep technical validation it is faster and more honest to jump straight to the place that counts as the official source: the W3C validator for HTML and CSS, Google PageSpeed Insights for performance, the Rich Results Test for structured data, or the Schema.org validator for JSON-LD types. SEOMURAI connects these services where you need them and passes the current address along.

SEOMURAI has no separate Tools tab. The steps below show where the checkers live and how to fit them into your workflow.

When this menu is especially useful

  • When you need an official, authoritative HTML or CSS validation, for example for audit reports or client communication.
  • When you want to test structured data in more depth and need more than the preliminary detection in the Tech SEO tab.
  • When you want to hand a PageSpeed Insights report to your developers or keep it on record.
  • When you do not want to memorize every validator URL or maintain them all as bookmarks.
  • When you want to re-run a validation quickly after a fix, without typing the URL again.

Step by step

1. Check HTML and CSS under HTML Data

Open Tech → HTML Data. In the “W3C Validation” section, “Validate” sends the page to the W3C HTML validator and to the W3C CSS validator. SEOMURAI shows the number of errors right away (“No Errors” or, for example, “3 Errors”) and links to the full report with “View Report →”.

2. Check structured data externally under Schema

Under Tech → Schema you will find the External Validators section with two buttons:

  • Google Validation: opens Google’s Rich Results Test with the current address, which shows whether your structured data qualifies for enhanced search results.
  • Schema.org Validation: opens the Schema.org validator with the current address, which checks your JSON-LD types against the Schema.org vocabulary.

3. The URL is passed automatically

The buttons under Schema open a new browser tab with the currently analyzed address already filled in. The W3C check under HTML Data runs directly in the panel instead. One exception applies: external services cannot load local or password-protected addresses, so in those cases you need to run the evaluation manually in the respective tool.

4. Apply the findings and check again

Read the results in the respective validator, apply the corrections in your CMS or source code, and then return to your page. Refresh the browser tab and open SEOMURAI again; you can then call up both the extension’s internal score and the validator once more to confirm the improvement.

5. PageSpeed Insights and more via right-click

PageSpeed Insights, the Wayback Machine, Search Console and further services are available through the “Open in SEO tool” context menu described in the next section.

New in version 1.7: external SEO tools by right-click

Version 1.7 expanded the browser context menu considerably, and it follows the same idea as the validators in the panel. Right-click any page or link and you will find two SEOMURAI groups that take you to external destinations or straight into the extension, without opening the panel first.

  • Open in SEO tool: opens the current page or the right-clicked link in twelve external destinations: Google site: search, Wayback Machine, SimilarWeb, PageSpeed Insights, Rich Results Test, Schema.org Validator, Search Console (overview and performance), Ahrefs, Moz, Majestic and Semrush.
  • Analyze with SEOMURAI: jumps straight into the Dashboard, Schema, Headings or Links analysis. For Backlinks and AI Visibility, SEOMURAI carries the domain of the chosen address into the DataForSEO tab and starts the analysis right away; those queries are billed against your DataForSEO balance.
  • Selection actions: select text on a page and search the selection on Google (FREE) or send the selection to SEOMURAI AI (PRO).

FREE users only see the FREE entries. In the Context Menu section under Settings you control the entries individually. Open in SEO tool and Analyze with SEOMURAI are enabled by default; AI in Context Menu is off by default and unlocks the AI selection action for PRO users.

Frequently asked questions

Tips and frequently asked questions

Are my URLs sent to third parties?

Yes, as soon as you click an external validator. That is the nature of these services: the W3C validator, Google PageSpeed Insights, the Rich Results Test and Schema.org load the page server-side in order to analyze it. If you do not want that, stay with the modules that only evaluate the open page, such as Meta, Headings, Schema, HTML Data or the link analysis. The modules with their own interface, that is DataForSEO, the AI assistants and the chatbot, send data to the provider whose key you have stored.

Do the external validators also work for localhost or staging?

No. External services need a publicly reachable URL, otherwise they cannot load the page. For local environments the internal SEOMURAI modules do most of the work. For structured data, you can copy the JSON-LD from the Tech SEO tab and paste it into the Schema.org validator as code.

Why is there no integrated Lighthouse report?

A full Lighthouse analysis requires headless Chrome execution and cannot be reproduced reliably inside the browser extension sandbox. Google PageSpeed Insights uses the same Lighthouse engine behind the scenes and gives you a complete, authoritative report without any detours. The PageSpeed Insights entry in the Open in SEO tool context menu is therefore the clean solution.

Can I add my own validators or tools?

In the current version the list is deliberately curated so that recommendations stay consistent. If a tool you consider essential for every audit set is missing, we welcome your feedback through the contact form. Beyond that, your own bookmark collection in the browser always remains a sensible addition.

Which validator is the right one for structured data?

For the SEO effect in the Google search results, the Rich Results Test is the decisive validator: it shows whether Google actually considers your markup for an enhanced presentation. The Schema.org Validator is stricter and checks formal correctness against the complete vocabulary. In practice both are worthwhile: first Schema.org for clean syntax, then Rich Results for visibility.

What is the difference between the validators in the panel and the right-click context menu?

The validators under HTML Data and Schema check the currently analyzed page from inside the panel. The right-click context menu, new in version 1.7.0, works without opening the panel: the group Open in SEO tool sends the page or a link to twelve external destinations, Analyze with SEOMURAI jumps directly into the matching analysis tab, and selected text can be searched on Google (FREE) or sent to SEOMURAI AI (PRO). Two new settings toggles, both enabled by default, control the context menu entries.
