Features
Everything you need to feed NotebookLM
Twelve capabilities, one free extension. Every feature rides on your existing Google login.
⌨️ Quick-save shortcut
Ctrl+Shift+S sends the current page directly to your last-used notebook. No popup, no prompt, instant.
🖱️ Right-click menu
Add a page, selection, link or image to NotebookLM by right-clicking. Selections become text sources; everything else becomes a web source.
📥 Bulk URL import
Paste a list of URLs or pick from links detected on the current page, then import them into a notebook in batches.
📡 RSS and Atom feed import
Deftery auto-detects feeds on the current page or accepts a feed URL directly. Pick the items you want and send them in one click.
▶️ YouTube video in one click
On every YouTube watch page Deftery places a “→ NotebookLM” button next to Like and Share. One click adds the current video as a source.
📺 YouTube channel in one click
On a channel’s Videos tab the same button sits next to Subscribe. It scrapes every listed video (up to 500) and imports them in a single batch.
🎬 YouTube playlist import
On a playlist page open the popup and add every video in the playlist as a NotebookLM source with one button.
📚 Notebook management
List, create, and delete NotebookLM notebooks from inside the extension. The list is cached locally so the UI stays responsive.
🎧 Trigger audio overviews
Generate NotebookLM audio overviews from the Notebooks tab and export the saved overviews as a podcast RSS feed.
👥 Multiple Google accounts
If you use several Google accounts in the same browser profile, Deftery sets the account index so it talks to the right NotebookLM.
🌐 Eight UI languages
English, German, Turkish, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish. Defaults to your browser language and can be overridden in Settings.
🔒 Privacy first
No analytics, no telemetry, no third-party calls. Your settings live in your browser, never on minoka servers.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything you may want to know before installing.
What does Deftery cost?
Deftery is free. There is no paid tier, no advertising, no PRO upsell, and no usage limits. minoka.de keeps Deftery free as a utility for the NotebookLM community.
Do I need a NotebookLM API key?
No. NotebookLM does not offer a public API. Deftery uses your existing Google session in the same browser profile to talk to NotebookLM on your behalf.
Which browsers are supported?
Every Chromium-based browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc, and similar. Built on Manifest V3, so future-proof.
What data does Deftery collect?
None. Deftery contains no analytics scripts, no telemetry, and no third-party calls. Settings, your last-used notebook, and the language choice live locally in your browser. Details are in the privacy policy.
Which permissions does Deftery request?
activeTab, contextMenus, storage, and tabs. Plus host permissions for notebooklm.google.com and *.youtube.com. Every permission has a clear purpose, documented in the privacy policy.
What does Deftery do on YouTube pages?
Deftery places a small “→ NotebookLM” button into YouTube’s existing actions row: on every watch page next to Like and Share, on a channel’s Videos tab next to Subscribe. One click sends the current video or every channel video to your last-used NotebookLM notebook. On playlist pages Deftery detects the list as soon as you open the popup. No additional request is made to YouTube; Deftery only reads the page you are already viewing.
Does Deftery work with multiple Google accounts?
Yes. In Settings you can pick the account index (0 for the first account, 1 for the second, and so on). Deftery then talks to the NotebookLM instance of the matching account.
Which UI languages does Deftery support?
Eight: English, German, Turkish, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Polish. Defaults to your browser language and can be overridden in Settings.
What happens when NotebookLM offers an official API?
As soon as NotebookLM ships a public API, we migrate the extension onto it. The switch is invisible to you and changes nothing about the features.
How do I activate Deftery for my workflow?
After install, open the popup once, pick a NotebookLM notebook as the default, and close the popup. The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S and the right-click menu work from then on.
Where do I find help?
The Settings tab has a “How to use” section that explains every feature. For other questions, reach minoka.de through the contact page.
