AI Literacy under Article 4 of the EU AI Act

AI Literacy: so your team uses AI tools safely and competently.

AI literacy training under Article 4 of the EU AI Act. For everyone working with AI systems such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini. Practical, without statutory prose.

What you learn

Six modules that hold up in practice.

The training covers the competence areas Article 4 of the EU AI Act aims at, plus the documentation questions that come up alongside them:

  • How generative AI systems work. What is behind ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini? What data goes in, what comes out, and why sometimes something different than expected appears.
  • Understanding risks and limits. Hallucinations, data leaks, copyright, data protection. Where you can deploy AI, where better not, and how to recognize the difference.
  • Writing prompts that work. Practical methods for instructing AI systems clearly. With examples from everyday work in marketing, HR, sales, and administration.
  • Evaluating and correcting output. How to read AI answers critically, recognize errors, and verify sources. The competence core of Article 4.
  • Documenting AI use. Which AI usage belongs in your records of processing activities, and when a data protection impact assessment becomes necessary. Templates you can apply directly.
  • EU AI Act in practice. Which obligations apply to your company depending on size and AI use. Risk classes, deadlines, what you must do and what is optional.

Fit

Who is the training for?

The AI Literacy training fits when:

  • Your employees use AI tools in their daily work, which is practically every knowledge-work company.
  • You hold HR, L&D, or compliance responsibility and want to build Article 4 AI literacy in a structured way.
  • You are looking for training that takes compliance seriously without drifting into legal jargon.
  • You want to bring along employees without an IT background, without overwhelming them with technology.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions about the training.

Legal status: 7 October 2026. These notes are an editorial summary and not legal advice; they do not replace a lawyer’s review of your particular case.

Is an off-the-shelf training enough?

For the basics yes, for the obligation usually not. Article 4 requires measures taking into account their technical knowledge, experience, education and training and the context the AI systems are to be used in, and considering the persons or groups of persons on whom the AI systems are to be used. Context and affected groups are in the statute, not in our offering. The statute explicitly names the context in which the AI systems are deployed and the groups of people they are used on. An off-the-shelf training can know neither: it does not know which systems you run, what data goes into them, who works with them, and who is affected by the results. So we look at your processes first and cut the training to them. Which systems you run and who is affected is settled by the EU AI Act compliance audit; the in-house workshop then works with your real processes instead of invented examples.

Are we obliged to train our staff?

Article 4 of the EU AI Act has required providers and deployers since 2 February 2025 to take measures for the AI literacy of their staff and of other persons dealing with AI systems on their behalf. The Digital Omnibus, Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, has been in force since 27 July 2026 and turned this into a duty of effort: you have to act, but you do not have to guarantee a particular level of competence for any individual. In practice that means a documented training concept, cut to roles and risks, rather than a certificate for everyone. Whoever trains should be able to show who was trained, on what, and when. How far that has to reach in your case depends on who works with what: that is settled by the EU AI Act compliance audit, while this course covers the competence build-up.

How much does the training cost?

Conditions are sent on request. Scope follows the number of participants, the format, and the preparation involved. We name concrete figures in our reply to your inquiry.

How does the booking work?

Through the form or directly by email. You will receive a personal reply within 24 hours with conditions and dates. We discuss whether the online module format or the in-house workshop fits better.

Does the training cover the Article 4 requirements?

The training is cut to the competence areas Article 4 addresses: how the systems work, their risks, and how to assess output. The participation record documents who was trained, on what, and when. Whether your measures are sufficient overall depends on your systems and roles; that is settled by the EU AI Act compliance audit.

What is the difference between the online module course and the in-house workshop?

The online module is asynchronous: each person learns at their own pace, with individual progress through modules. The in-house workshop is on-site or remote-live: 1 day focused at a stretch, team discussion, exercises from your daily work. Content is identical; the in-house format is especially useful when you want to bring an entire team to the same level.

What about employees who only occasionally use ChatGPT?

They work with AI systems too, and belong in the group you build competence for. How much is enough depends on the role and the use. The training is structured so that occasional users can take away the essential content in 1 to 2 hours.
