GEO Audit

GEO Audit: stay cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.

Audit at a fixed price. We inspect your AI visibility, your Knowledge Graph presence, and your llms.txt. Then the audit delivers a prioritized roadmap.

Scope

What does the GEO Audit cover?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the younger sibling of SEO. It addresses how your brand appears in answers from generative AI systems. The audit covers these areas:

  • AI bot access. We check whether the most important AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and others) are allowed to read your content, and whether you want them to.
  • llms.txt setup. Does the file exist? Is it correctly structured? Which content is prioritized for AI systems?
  • Schema markup coverage. FAQPage, Article, Organization, Person, Service. Where is structured data missing that AI systems prefer as a source?
  • Knowledge Graph visibility. Does your brand have a Knowledge Panel in Google? A Wikidata Q-ID? Brand mentions that AI systems treat as a credibility signal?
  • AI visibility per query. We check for a prioritized set of queries whether you are cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, and which sources are cited instead of yours.
  • Discoverability for AI systems. Are your contents structured so that an AI can extract clear facts? Or is the substance hidden in long, nested marketing sentences?
  • Competitive comparison. We compare your AI visibility against three direct competitors and identify the gaps you should close first.

Fit

When does the GEO Audit fit?

The GEO Audit is not for everyone. It fits when:

  • Your audience uses generative AI to research providers, solutions, or software, typical in B2B SaaS and in technically inclined mid-market.
  • Your competitors already appear in AI answers but you do not. Or the other way round: you want to secure the early-mover advantage before the market catches up.
  • You already cover classical SEO well and want to gear up for the next visibility layer without endangering the substance you have built.
  • Your brand handles regulatory or compliance topics where LLMs are increasingly used as a first research source.

Frequently asked

What you should know before requesting.

How does GEO differ from classical SEO?

SEO ensures search engines index your content and rank it in result lists. GEO ensures generative AI systems (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews) cite your brand and your content as a source for answers. Both disciplines share technical substance like Schema, clean markup, and crawlability. GEO requires additional steps: Knowledge Graph visibility, Wikidata presence, AI bot access, and llms.txt. minoka inspects both in one audit because the recommendations reinforce each other.

How do you measure AI visibility concretely?

We test, for a set of 30 to 50 prioritized queries, whether and how you are cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. We document the sources cited instead of yours and, based on the diversity of those sources, determine what your next action should be.

Do I really need GEO already, or is this hype?

Both. For many B2B sectors it is already reality: decision-makers research providers in AI tools before visiting a website. Anyone who does not appear in those answers is invisible for a growing share of the research paths. For other audiences the impact arrives in 12 to 24 months. The audit shows objectively where you stand on that scale.

What happens after the GEO Audit concretely?

You receive the written report and the recording of the live discussion. You have 30 days to ask follow-up questions. The prioritized roadmap distinguishes between quick wins (Schema, llms.txt, bot access) and medium- to long-term measures (Knowledge Graph build-up, Wikidata setup, content restructuring). You can implement the actions with your own team.

Does the audit also cover classical SEO?

Yes, always. GEO builds on SEO. Crawlability, Schema, and a clean technical foundation are prerequisites for AI visibility. The audit inspects both disciplines integrated; the focus here is on AI visibility. If your question is primarily classical SEO, choose the dedicated SEO Audit instead.
